Ultimate Gaming Updates and Tech Talk
The gaming world is buzzing with announcements, and we're breaking it all down with our signature no-holds-barred commentary. Lexi kicks things off by celebrating her sixth tech certification, adding QG Plus to her impressive professional arsenal while sharing invaluable insights about certification preparation and study methods.
Our entertainment segment dives headfirst into The Weeknd's controversial new film "Hurry Up Tomorrow," which has critics and audiences alike scratching their heads. With a brutal 14% Rotten Tomatoes score, we dissect why this vanity project failed to connect beyond die-hard fans. As one host bluntly puts it: "This isn't entertainment—this is fanfic. Someone wrote creepy stuff about The Weeknd, and he found it and just invested money into it."
The gaming news has us genuinely excited about several upcoming releases and adaptations. Remedy Games has officially confirmed a Max Payne remaster, Netflix is developing a Gears of War movie starring Dave Bautista, and Horizon 3: Nemesis continues the popular PlayStation franchise. However, our tech segment sounds a serious alarm about NVIDIA's questionable launch of their new RTX 5060 graphics cards. In an unprecedented move, NVIDIA withheld review samples from major tech YouTubers, forcing gamers to rely solely on company-provided benchmarks. At $300-379, these cards remain readily available on shelves—a rarity for new NVIDIA releases and a clear warning sign for savvy consumers.

Thank you and welcome to another episode of the Carolina Taco Podcast. I am Adpro and I'm here with my co-host.
Speaker 2:See you.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, congrats, welcome back. But you know, you guys know how we start these things off. We have a lot of stuff to kind of go through today. Big congratulations to Lexi and stuff. We'll go more into that, kind of have some details on some newer graphics cards $300 graphics cards. So if you want one, don't get one, don't get it, because it's not going to be worth it. I guess the other big thing is just kind of talking about more remasters coming out and just kind of new games that are coming out also. I don't just go from there. So the way we usually start these off is you know what we've been up to. So I'll go first again.
Speaker 1:This week not really much going on, um. So for me, you know, interviews and stuff gotta offer kind of sitting and contemplating it a little bit. But more than likely I'm probably going to take it. It's just certain things with it that you just gotta sit and think about because you're like, oh fuck, it's disappointing, but I guess it's also good. But when I sit here and think about it it's really more disappointing than good. I'm just like I don't know what to do, you know. So that's one thing Finally getting my damn benefits, yo.
Speaker 2:Did they give you that back pay?
Speaker 1:Yeah for sure. Yeah, most definitely. It took. I mean the re-. Yeah, I'll be honest with you.
Speaker 1:If you, if you get, if you get unemployed at any time, coming up and you get a severance, don't put anything in that shit, don't even tell them, because they're gonna take that shit and they're gonna dictate when your benefits you're kicking. And that was the issue that I ran into. You put in all the right information and you're supposed to. You know, you put in all the right information. You don't, you know lie and all that crap and you tell you're honest and all that shit. And it kind of came and bit me in the ass. Just because it was, just because it something on their side, the system I had the part-time job at the range it saw that and created just a whole bunch of shit. I had to go on a phone call with a judge and kind of get that shit settled, and it was just a whole bunch of shit. I had to go on a phone call with a judge and kind of get that shit settled, and it was just a whole bunch of crap.
Speaker 1:I literally after that had that phone call. The next day somebody was actually able to get on the phone with me and explain what happened, even though I have called multiple times to this place, been on hold for multiple minutes. Everybody was nice, can't knock that, but it's just. It was. It's just the. I applied for it back in January, back in January. So it's been a. It's been interesting, for sure, but other than that, you know, not too much going on Still looking for jobs and stuff like that and kind of just going from there. I had a job at O'Reilly's and the person that interviewed me, he looked at my resume. He was like well, you got a lot of tech on here and Right, but I think that was a hindrance though.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Because I mean on me, yeah. But also when somebody sees it like if you're going for a job where it's just like O'Reilly's advanced auto parts, you know grocery stores, something like that, I feel like the people that hire look at your resume and I know in their head they ask the question why that's the first one. I know in their head they ask the question why that's the first one. And then the second thing that they probably do is also kind of think this person is probably going to be looking for other work while he's doing this and if this becomes, if this is a full-time job that we just brought this person on this person can be gone in a month, literally in a month, or you could be burnt out in tech and want to do something different, so that is a possibility as well.
Speaker 1:But it's just, you know, you, I don't know. So I think they saw that and was like, yeah, that person's not going to be here long. There's no point of us doing all this documentation, getting them all set up and stuff and having all that crap just for them to get up and leave and stuff. So I understand it for sure, for sure, and I think that's about it though, doing stuff around the house, cleaning up gutters and all that stuff, but that's about it, that's about it. So what have you been up to, lexi?
Speaker 2:Oh my God, yeah, are you serious, right?
Speaker 1:now.
Speaker 2:All right, I passed my exam Saturday, so now I am QG Plus certified. That makes number six for me in certification. So we were just talking about what's next on my certification road list. I'm trying to decide if I want to do my CAS and go for that Usually that's like five years of experience that you need Actually it's five to ten or should I just study and retake my studies before December, because it expires in december?
Speaker 1:so congrats on passing. I know that you were. You were taking classes for the certification. Is that correct? So I will ask you this, and we probably already talked about this but it's taking the taking a class for the certification, better than doing a self kind of teaching thing? I know it depends on the person, but a lot of people ask questions I know they do and when it comes to this whole certification thing, it's actually going into a class, paying for a class If your job pays for it, cool. If you have to pay for it out of pocket. It's taking a class, learning the test and all that stuff. I guess better than kind of sitting there going through youtube I mean, you still use youtube videos as a good resource, of course, but is kind of just using youtube videos getting the textbook that you need and kind of just going through it yourself like any, like what's the? Is there a? Yeah, I mean there's a difference between the two, but which one do you think is better?
Speaker 2:it's really going to depend on the person, like you said. So I know, for me personally, I feel better when, like, I'm in like a classroom environment. Um, because it makes it a more structural thing for me because I have adhd. Oh, like, I need that structure to actually like go about it. Like I have passed exams. They're doing self-study, but from what I hankered down and like actually do it, do it, I have to like be in some kind of like boot camp or something to do it. And yeah, you do use different resources, like I use stuff outside of class to help me pass there as well.
Speaker 2:For this one, there is like a really good youtube video. It's like a youtube playlist by this guy that has like all the pq questions. He goes through them like it's not by self and he actually like breaks it down like mentally how he's thinking as he's doing it, and that like literally helped because like two, two of the three pvq questions that I had on mine were literally from these videos and it's not the same, but it's like the general ideal behind it, like how to solve it. Yeah, that are hopefully so that and I use a lot of chat dpt to to like just make like study guides and sheets and things of that nature. So like everybody has their own way of going about studying and training for certification, it's just what you're learning. You know what do you talk?
Speaker 1:understandable. Understandable that's what I, you know it's. I don't have any certification, it's just got a degree and stuff I don't like school, hated it when I was going and now don't like it. So it's not and I don't like. I'm not the biggest fan of studying and stuff like that, so I always give big props to people that go for like their masters and stuff like that. I wanted to go get my masters, but it was like a masters in fine arts or something like that. I wanted to go get my master's, but it was like a master's in fine arts or something like that. But yeah, right, let's see how that would help me. Nothing against people that got it. Hey, you got it, cool. But that was probably the only thing that I wanted to do was do the fine arts thing. But congrats on getting a cert. That's dope. So this is number what? Six Six Got six things underneath the belt. All right, that's six thousand things. That's awesome. That is really fucking good. So what'd you buy yourself? I?
Speaker 2:didn't buy anything. You're lying. I am not. I literally haven't bought shit for myself because I passed.
Speaker 1:Who'd you get to buy yourself, since you passed?
Speaker 2:Nothing. I don't really need anything right now. I got my.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yes, yes, you know.
Speaker 2:Hater.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we got it. Thank you, we got it. But nah, also, you saw that Mew Excuse me, he doesn't go by his music name anymore, abel, I don't know, I know his first name is just able hurry up tomorrow, okay, so so let me just preface this with. The weekend had a series on hbo got canceled, right. I don't doesn't mean that he's a bad actor, I just think the show itself just didn't do well. All right, so let me preface it with that. Now, how was the movie?
Speaker 2:okay, I'm gonna preface this now before we even go deep into it. You're not a weekend fan. One you're not gonna understand. And two, you're not gonna like this movie. It's just cut blank and bull dry as that. Okay, you don't like him, you're not gonna like this. Um, but as a weekend fan, literally I would give the movie a seven out of ten. There's, I guess, a rundown of what is like janina or whatever.
Speaker 2:Otago, the girl that plays wednesday from from the next show. Yeah, she is playing in the movie. We see her at the beginning. She's like lighting a house on fire. In this house there's a bunch of pictures of like abel and his mom and all this stuff. So the house is burning on fire and apparently her, like her mom, is calling, trying to figure out where she is and she's just like basically trying to get to this weekend show. And then we see the weekend like on stage, not okay, not all the way coked out, but he's coked out enough and so he does this show or whatever. And then that's when his show gets like super hammered, wasted or whatever, and like we wake up.
Speaker 2:It's the next day and I think it's the day of like the, the show that she was going to and like he's trying to call this girl, she's not answering his phone calls. He's spazzing out, having a panic attack, and his friend is like just feeding him, like hey, just take the coke, take the coke. And then in the meantime, in the background, he also is having vocal issues, like he can't sing to his full potential. So he goes to the doctor for that. And doctor's like nothing wrong with you, I think it's just stress. So anyways, he like supposed to do this show. His friends like you could do this show. He's like no, cancel the fucking show, I don't want to do the fucking show. He's like come on, man, we have to do the fucking show. He's like okay, fine, we're doing the show.
Speaker 2:And so he goes and tries to do the show and cannot fucking see at all. And the girl's in the audience, right, and she sees him and they look at each other and they're like and then he walks back off or whatever, and like starts grabbing shit and just starts running right in the meantime she does the same. She's like running, and they like bump into each other. He's like hey, I think I've seen you before. Why do I feel like I know you? And she was like I don't know. He's like you want to come with me. She's like, yeah, sure, oh, they go run off. So they run off, um to this, like if you've ever been to myrtle beach, you remember like the pavilion where her prayers will, or whatever. Okay, they run to a place like that. They have like fun. Anywhere that he's wearing a mask so people can't really know who he is or whatever.
Speaker 2:She's wearing one too, whatever so they have like nice little cute night and they wake up in the morning and she is acting weird. He's trying to leave all right, I gotta go. Yada, yada, yada. And she's like where the fuck do you think you're going? And he's like I got a tour.
Speaker 2:He's like hits him on the back of the head, knocks him clean the fuck out and like so he wakes up and he's on like there's nobody in the world but him and he gets on his elevator and like pretty much kind of like he was in purgatory for a bit, but um, he meets his child's self and then he wakes the fuck back up in the hotel room with her and she starts playing like his songs and asking him what does this mean, or whatever. And so during this whole process his friend knocks on the door that I know he's in there, his phone is pinging in there, and she's like no, he's not here. He must have left the call anyways. They get into a scuffle and like he tries to like attack her or whatever. She tries to stab him and they just start fighting and then she has to stab him and kill him.
Speaker 2:In front of Abel and Abel starts crying and starts singing his song, hurry Up Tomorrow, yeah. And then she tries. She starts pouring gasoline on him and like she's. She starts pouring gasoline on him and like she's gonna light him on fire, but she decides not to. He just wakes up and walks out the fucking room and that's the end of the fucking profession.
Speaker 1:Yes, so this is just another movie about the weekend. Yes, just like the series.
Speaker 2:Well, okay, the series is not about him. So I always say that the series is about him. If he never became famous, okay, if he never became famous, he probably would have been Tadros. But this, yes, this is literally about him and kind of like his rebirth. He's letting the weekend go and now he's coming here, true self, as Abel. Yeah, and if you're a fan and you're digging into that kind of stuff, you will love it. Yeah, it's not for everybody and you like, like digging into that kind of stuff you will love it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's not for everybody. I'm not even gonna hold y'all and be like michael jackson. Let's get that clear, right. This motherfucker does not need a movie like this, where it's a crazed fan. What, what the hell does a crazed fan have to do with him? Like leaving his moniker, like leaving his, his, his, his.
Speaker 2:I read him I was like, hey, maybe the fan is actually also him, cause she's also like in the house running and stuff. The fan is him. You have his childhood version of him. There's also in there, like it's it's a lot, it's a lot done, I'm done, I know, I know, oh, I know.
Speaker 1:Oh crazy Yo, how did this movie do?
Speaker 2:That's what I'm looking up now. What did Rotten Tomato do? The last time I checked it was like a 17 on Rotten Tomato and I am trying to check now.
Speaker 1:We can just need to stop acting. Niggas, stick to singing.
Speaker 2:It's a 14. And it says you can see the 8 with moviegoers.
Speaker 1:It's a 14?. That's bad, that's bad.
Speaker 2:That's bad it was. If you're a fan, like a hardcore fan okay, most people are not, so it's not going to be for them and unfortunately, you made a major movie release where you're going to have people that don't even know you're going to try to watch this and they're not going to understand a lot of the stuff that's in there and so, yeah, I feel the same way like him acting.
Speaker 2:If he can act and not play roles like loosely based on himself or like mostly based on himself, I think it would be okay. But the last two roles that he has done have been loosely based on himself and, mind you, you know, like you call me the weekend's wifey yes, i'ma support him, but like I'm still gonna have my opinions.
Speaker 1:And you don't mention Nah, that's bad, that's bad, that is aged, okay, whatever, if you saw the movie, hope you liked it. If you saw it and you were thinking or expecting you know what's crazy From the picture of just showing the people in the movie and stuff, honestly you would think it was some other type of shit and not that.
Speaker 2:Right. So the movie gives you horror-thriller vibes and it's not a horror thriller movie at all. There's some small elements in there that are horror and thriller, which I can understand, because he does the Universal Studios Halloween thing, I think for the last two years, but it's definitely not.
Speaker 1:Yeah, shit, that's bad, that shit. Alright, abel, keep up the good work, man, jesus Christ, go back to music. This dude, I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, maybe he thinks he's on some Donald Glover type shit Right, but we already know that Donald Glover can act really well.
Speaker 2:I think he's trying to pursue other things outside of music.
Speaker 1:Well, he needs to do something else. This shit ain't working. You try TV and you try movies. Sorry bro, you don't get a third swing. You don't get a third movies. Sorry bro, you don't get a third swing. You don't get a third swing. Sorry bro, sorry. Invest in a company or something. Do something. Damn, that shit ain't working. And I feel sorry for the people that went to the movies expecting to see like this is a weekend with the. You know, this is a movie with the weekend in it. Yeah, let's go check it out. This could be to be something crazy. And then you get in there and figure out oh shit, this is about him. This isn't about some random fucking topic or like some random killer out there just trying to like kill a whole bunch of people. It's a person trying to be like kill him or like keep them for himself. Or I said that long as fuck, I don't give a fuck, but that's what it is. This isn't like. It's not even like. It's not even like entertaining shit. This is like fanfic.
Speaker 2:He just took a fanfic. Why do you say that? Because I didn't think about that until you said it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he literally just probably took something that's already wrote on Reddit and just said you know what? That's a good fucking movie. No, it's not nigga, it's dumb, that's fanfic. That's all it is. That is fanfic as hell. Someone was going to write some creepy shit about the Weeknd and he found it and he said oh yeah, that works. Motherfucker was just bold enough to put it and just invest money into it and actually do it. Sorry, sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, like I feel sorry for his fan base.
Speaker 1:I do like I think don't know his fan base like that, but I would think his fan base would want to see him in a movie like acting like he has he's been in um what was it cut gems with, uh, adam sandler before okay, there was a lot of people in that movie, but I mean like just something that's like oh yeah, this is the Weeknd, like stepping out of the music shit and like really putting his best foot forward into this acting shit, like wrestlers that go into like movies, right, like it takes them a little time yeah, but also wrestling is basically acting anyway, you know they get hit for sure, for sure, for sure.
Speaker 1:But in order to talk on a mic and all that stuff, you got to act anyway, and it's only a couple. There's a lot of wrestlers that went into acting Roddy Piper, the Rock, batista, stone Cold All of them went, but it's only certain ones that are actually good at it. So yeah, that's a fanfic though good at it.
Speaker 2:So, yeah, that's a fanfic, though that's crazy. That's crazy work.
Speaker 1:That's crazy. We're going to other topics now, thank you. Yeah, uh, speaking of, you know, wrestlers going into movies and shit, a pretty well-known actor I guess retired wrestler man I do have so saw this on Facebook, saw that Netflix. God, I hope Netflix actually really does well with this. I hope they do, jesus Christ. I don't know why. I feel like this should be like some HBO shit, but I hope Netflix does okay with this. So we are getting a Gears of War movie being hung by Deadpool 2, which was good, and the Fall Guy director Didn't see the Fall Guy. I do know it was the Little Ryan Reynolds movie, hopefully and one person that we know that is playing in this movie is Dave Bautista.
Speaker 2:As who.
Speaker 1:I don't know. I don't think. You know what's crazy. I was thinking about that when I saw it. I was like if he plays Dom, that's gonna be crazy.
Speaker 2:He can't play Marcus. Huh, he can't play Marcus.
Speaker 1:It would have to be Dom, then it would have to be Dom.
Speaker 2:I feel like this is gonna be so bad because it's Netflix and you know how Netflix loves to take a franchise and flip it upside down and has it to do nothing on what it originally started with.
Speaker 1:Yep, I would love to see who they get for Phoenix, dom, a-train and Carmine, especially A-Train, especially A-Train. Yeah, a-train's dope, right. But you got to sit there. You got to sit there and think like, okay, who's going to play these characters? If we end up? Honestly, actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Batista does play Phoenix. I'm serious, because here's the thing they wouldn't because he was in the preview for it, like it was just him, and we know that Phoenix is kind of like the face of Gears of War, so I'm pretty sure it was probably. He's probably going to be playing Marcus Phoenix, right? I think it would fit better if he did play Dom, but I don't think you put a person in a preview kind of like the first preview, and you know he's going to yeah, and you know he's going to die.
Speaker 1:You know he's going to die.
Speaker 2:Why did you say that?
Speaker 1:If you hadn't played the fucking game, you were lost alright. Now here's the thing. It's going to be a lot of people. You know what this is going to be like. What's that shit on HBO now with Pedro Pascal gonna be like. This is gonna be like what's that um shit on hbo now with shit pedro pascal. What's that show?
Speaker 2:you mean the last of us?
Speaker 1:yeah, okay. So when the people that played the game knew what was gonna happen, people who don't play the game were mad as shit that this motherfucker died, like they were like I'm not watching this shit, no more. No, I'm not gonna watch this shit. And it's just like.
Speaker 2:People that played the game were just like, yeah, we already know this shit's gonna happen if netflix fuck up the scene where he dies or when he finds maria, I am gonna be so fucking.
Speaker 1:That's what I'm saying. I feel like this should be like more HBO shit than um Netflix shit. I would actually to be honest with you, I would actually see this in a movie theater if it was actually done correctly look at all the movies that have been out for like been out lately, yeah it's just I hope they do well with this shit.
Speaker 1:I really do. I'm pretty sure they're probably just gonna do uh, this gear the war, the first one and who knows, they might go into the other ones, but I highly doubt it. I hope the the graphics look good. I hope everything was good. Like the monsters look amazing. I hope the guns look like really, really nice. Like I hope everything looks like really dope. I hope when they use that banshee and they use that saw to cut through a motherfucker, I want to see blood on the screen. Like I want to see blood on the screen. I want to see Marcus coming up behind somebody, one of these joints, and like cutting them, and the blood is just splattering on the camera. Like that's what I want to see. Don't fuck this up, netflix, please don't.
Speaker 2:And then, I don't know, I feel like this probably could have been a show for me too, like because there's like yeah, like county, like not like the sequels or the prequels or whatever, the spinoffs and also like five in the main story right now so yeah. So I hope they're not going to do it where they put like all five in one movie, because that's, that's gonna be insane yeah, we shall see what they do.
Speaker 1:um, I I really hope netflix actually does with that. I hope they actually move it well and advertise well and I hope they get good actors and actresses to actually play these characters well, Characters that actually appreciate the game right. I think that's the big thing when it comes to like game movies and stuff like that. I don't think a lot of the actors that are in these movies have ever played the games. They don't give a lot of the actors that are in these movies have ever played the games. They don't give two fucks about the game and they don't understand how gaming fan bases work. I know that Star Wars has their shit. You got anime motherfuckers that have their shit. Don't fuck up a game, especially a game that's been around for a while. Don't fuck it up because they don't let you know.
Speaker 2:That's why I didn't have the highest expectations for like Fallout, when I was like, oh, we're gonna do a show, but it lived up to the hype, so yeah, they did good job speaking of Fallout, there is, uh, season two is going to be coming out, I think end of this year, and they got renewed for season three already.
Speaker 1:So Fallout for season three already. So fallout is going to be, um, coming out soon, fallout season two, for sure, for sure you can see, mr yep, I'm excited for that I don't know if hogwarts legacy is coming out with faked.
Speaker 2:Okay, so I played the first one and I got up to like 20 hours in and I just got bored with the game, like I just, I just didn't want to play it anymore and I haven't went back to play it so because there was no, like there was no Quidditch matches, and then you want to make a whole separate game just for Quidditch matches and you could just do that into the first game.
Speaker 1:I mean, I guess I think it's a purpose and a need for this stuff. Harry Potter people are their own thing too. They're crazy too, just like any other fandom. They're crazy too. Something else that's coming out, yeah, powerports Legacy 2. I I never played it, but you know, I watched videos of people playing it, of course, and all that stuff. So that's another one, and then one that I'm actually so we got some. So we're back in this realm of remasters. Everybody, hold on to your shit. We got some, uh, rulers of remasters and we got, uh, you know these remasters, boy, I'm sweat one remaster which I actually kind of want to. You know these remasters, boy, I'm sweating One remaster which I actually kind of want to happen.
Speaker 1:I don't know how you feel about this, but Max Payne, I would love to see Max Payne. I would too as a remaster. Now, we do need it's just a rumor. We do need to take into consideration that Rockstar is also still ie. We put out a video saying that they are moving Grand Theft Auto to next year, so that could be where all of their like shit is going to right now. So this is just a rumor, but if this shit looks like that screenshot right there. Yeah, I want that For sure, for sure. I will buy that Max Payne great game by Rockstar, love it.
Speaker 2:Fucking love it. No, it's not a rumor, oh for real I found the. Remedy Games website. Yeah, they are making it. It's not a rumor. I found the Remedy Games website. Yeah, they are making it.
Speaker 1:That's what I know, what I need to get Love Max Payne. So this is going to be good.
Speaker 1:This is one of the. This is a. You know, it's crazy. When I posted a TikTok video about remasters and stuff, somebody made the comment of anything that's like 10 years or older should definitely get a remaster If it was very popular. For sure, for sure, and I have to agree with that. Don't give me a, you know, a remastered or something that came out like five, four, three years ago. So you know, max Payne is definitely one of those ones that um means. So you know, max pain is definitely one of those ones that um means the well is going to be happening and um. You guys, I get all my stuff used for my facebook posts and stuff like that, and when I see it, you know, I just take screenshots and stuff. And just because it was interesting to me, um, I didn't play this game either. But another big one for people which you know, another ps5 exclusive yeah, that doesn't surprise me where they left it.
Speaker 2:You knew there was going to be another one yep horizon three nemesis.
Speaker 1:Yep Horizon 3 Nemesis. Like I said, never played it. I don't have a PS5, so you can play it on PC. You can.
Speaker 2:Yeah, they brought those games over, Just yeah. You can look for it on Steam.
Speaker 1:So I might give it a try. See what it's about. You know just something out there. Keep your eyes open for it and stuff like that. Don't have an exact date, but just keep your eyes open for this, if you're into the Horizon series, for sure. And then the last one is kind of like just something I thought was interesting. Yeah, this is Okay. Another remaster. That's sick. Okay, because I've been watching a lot of videos about it recently and they're doing a remake of God of War.
Speaker 2:I'm not a God of War fan, so this doesn't woo me. I can see why they would do it.
Speaker 1:I am a fan of. I'm a fan of God of War because of the voice actor that does it the original voice actor, tc Carson, aka Kyle Barker from Ludacris, the original creator, and then the new one. I forgot what his name is. I know his name is Christopher, though, and he played as Stargate SG-1, but I forgot his last name. But the reason why I like this game is the voice acting. I always thought the voice acting was amazing in this. Like, voice acting in games is always you know a thing. That's always good, but for the God of War series, man, they nail it on the head and they do really well. I remember seeing a clip or reading something where the new god of war actor, christopher, didn't want. They supposedly went back in the past in one of the games and he was his younger self and he didn't want to do the voice of the younger Kratos. He wanted TC to come back and do it, and I was like man, that's sick, that is so sick. And they got like rings with like.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I've seen that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I was like man that is so sick, so Zan's still too Love seeing that. I think that's just something that's really cool. I think people will definitely appreciate that.
Speaker 2:For sure, have you been playing Doom Dark Ages?
Speaker 1:How's that been?
Speaker 2:I like it so far. Yeah, I've been playing it because I got it with my 5090. Graphics-wise, I don't know. For me it feels like a little unimpressive. What's a 5090? I?
Speaker 1:don't know, I just think it's good.
Speaker 2:Wow, I don't know, I just expected that wow, I don't know, gameplay is pretty fun that's what it's all about.
Speaker 1:All them shits like it's all about just running and gunning. That's it. It's just running gun type shit, you know. So I definitely appreciate that. And one more. I got one last one, and this one is if you're a fan of these publishers, Naughty Dog.
Speaker 1:Yeah, naughty Dog New IP could be an open-world sci-fi game. Naughty Dog has brought us like Crash, bandicoot and stuff like that, last of Us and Uncharted, so you know, just another PS5 exclusive. So keep an eye out for that too. I don't know if a lot of people like open world stuff. I love open world. We've been playing a lot of Skyrim and when I tell you that shit, oh my gosh, man With these mods, look, I got telekinesis arrows. Now, oh yeah, here we started. I got telekinesis arrows. Oh my gosh, I got the armors and the new weapons and shit. It's amazing. I love it, love it, love it, love it. So, yeah, keep an eye out for that from Naughty Dog. Love it, love it, love it. So, yeah, keep an eye out for that from Naughty Dog. And I guess, another big thing that I kind of want to talk about real quick and I had to take notes for this because I just found out about this.
Speaker 1:So, as we know, the big graphics card daddy that's up here is NVIDIA. Right, nvidia is going to do what they need to do to make some money, right? So they've done this. They did this with the all their series. They've always come out with like less expensive ones, but of course people are gonna buy it and hike them up and all that shit, right? Well, there was a situation. The new uh 50, 60 graphics cards came out yesterday, as of the 19th, and if you were to go online on YouTube and try to find reviews on these cards, you're not going to find any from the big tech YouTubers. Why? Because NVIDIA didn't give these cards out to the big tech YouTubers to do testing and basically they didn't give out the drivers either, so they couldn't do any testing with these. So because of that, you can go on Nvidia right now and find these graphics cards still available Still available. That doesn't happen Anytime a new card comes out, it's gone immediately, not always.
Speaker 2:In Nvidia, yes, but like yeah, they didn't do much of a launch with this one either, like nobody was hyping this up, talking about it or anything of that nature, so like I didn't even know they were coming out.
Speaker 1:Until after I brought it up they weren't even coming out, so I was just like, oh, so they came out with a 50 68 gig and they come out with a 50 60 ti. You have a lot of these big tech strength, a lot of these big tech youtubers saying don't buy this shit, don't buy it, and they one of the the only things that nvidia has out or you can see performance in numbers. It. It's only from them, it's only from NVIDIA or hand-picked YouTubers that they wanted to do this. And then, even with that, they had to follow certain protocols in order to for testing.
Speaker 1:So it wasn't just all right, I'm just going to get this card, let's do what we want to do with it. We're going to try these games out. We're going to against this, that, this, that. No, they had to follow certain rules in order to do this testing and get these youtube videos out. One of the big things that they uh mentioned, which a lot of the youtubers were saying, is like, come on now. But that can't be true. This is, oh, the rtx 50 60, your favorite games, maxed out at 100 plus FPS. These are the games that they're saying that can run that at what resolution?
Speaker 1:well, let's take a look here. So there's a little. See this little configuration 1080p max settings. Now my thing is look, I'm not, I don't have the best PC, I don't. My shit isn't like crazy, crazy, crazy, but if somebody's gonna be running shit, they're gonna be putting that shit to the max Just to see what they can do. Alright, people do that Just to see what you know, just see what they can do. But these are only numbers that nvidia gave to people. This is what they're saying. There aren't many youtube videos out there that are saying oh, yeah, that actually makes sense, yeah, that fits, that's actually real. There's not a lot of videos out out there that are saying that, because these big youtubers are saying don't buy this shit, don't even go for it. Oh, and that's why you got these cards still on the shelves. It's $300, by the way, 8 gigs and I think the TI is $500?.
Speaker 2:No, it's $379.
Speaker 1:$379?. Yeah, dude, I wouldn't even touch that. Just go buy some old shit from a 4,000 series or a 3, three thousand series, to be honest with you and half of y'all probably already doing that anyway, but nobody's 57, he just he doesn't for yep, nobody is touching these things.
Speaker 1:It's to the point where you know these youtubers are saying because of this or the where gaming and computer builds are going, it just seems like just more greed out of the pockets, just more greed. And maybe NVIDIA really doesn't give a fuck. And when I was thinking about this, maybe this is the best time for their competitors to come in and kick the door through. I know AMD has their shit right and, if I'm not mistaken, I thought Intel was supposed to be coming out with a graphics card too. I wonder how that's Is that doing well?
Speaker 2:Do you hear anybody talking about it? That told me that it was right. It's like one fucking card and that's pretty much it. Yeah, nobody talks about the Intel GPU.
Speaker 1:Man, man, money, money is money and pee Ben people, companies are greedy. We we've seen it with the xbox stuff going up, which that got a lot of conversation on tiktok too. People saying, man, you can't blame the terrorists. Like dude, shut the fuck up. It's like that's a part of it. Come on now. But you know, nintendo is going up. Well, yeah, xbox is going up. The only thing, the only gaming company that we haven't seen move yet, is Sony.
Speaker 2:Sony already has gone up. They have the PlayStation Pro models that are like $750. You're paying for Pro for what? At that point you might as well just buy like an entry-level game PC at that point, yeah yeah.
Speaker 1:So if you guys are looking for a breakfast card and you see these 50 you know 50, 60s don't go for y'all. Just find something else. Wait, you know, set more money aside and just wait. Don't go for these, because we you don't know the numbers. There isn't a lot of shit out there until more reviews come out, and even that because they're out now and it's already been kind of like a day and a half and you see some reviews coming out. But I need to watch more, but I don't think it's going to do well, I don't.
Speaker 2:I don't think it's going to do well either.
Speaker 1:You know, like I remember, when I remember with the 3000 series they came out with, didn't they come out with 3060s?
Speaker 1:They did come out with 3060s. Yeah, I remember those ships were actually being advertised. I remember seeing a lot of videos for those before they came out. I already had my 3090s so I was straight. But I was already seeing YouTubers doing the reviews, doing the benchmarks, putting it up against the different games and stuff like that and kind of just giving their really good reviews about it. And I don't think it came off as a bad card. It was just a budget card that was good and can hold you over at 1080p and just allows you to play your games as you want to play. You can't go crazy with your settings, but you're able to play a game and it actually be consistent, right now.
Speaker 2:No, I was going to say maybe with that card is it's like eight gigs.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:I mean, OK, I can see if you're doing like you're doing, a budget build and you know you're not going to play a lot of games like intensive games.
Speaker 1:I won't even touch it.
Speaker 2:Well, I know why you wouldn't touch it. I play and you play, we, we could not know.
Speaker 1:Like people I mean people that don't even like playing, like like crazy graphical games I just wouldn't touch it, because you're adding to the, adding to the notion that anything that they come out with, we're just gonna eat it the fuck up. We can't do this. We can't because it's just like yeah, we're gonna, we're just gonna eat everything that they come out with. We're just going to eat it the fuck up. We can't do this, we can't, because it's just like yeah, we're just going to eat everything that you put out Okay, they're kind of the monopoly, there's not many options.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you're right. I mean you sure you got AMD Okay, and you know Intel's trying to put a little show in the game but they really ain't doing anything. So I mean right now, until we get more like diversity in the graphics card market which is crazy, because you know what's crazy.
Speaker 1:This kind of reminds me of like I'm sorry you guys, I'm gonna talk about firearms real quick, but it's like buying like a 2011. It's like there's so many people that come out with a 2011 but you notice the kaitos are, like you know, up there like sand vipers and stuff. They're really expensive two thousand, three thousand dollar guns and you get like other guns that are cheaper, but they're 2011s and you know they're not gonna be at the best of the best and some people are probably scared to try it. I think that would be the biggest thing if somebody were to come into this graphic cards game and be like, all right, we got something new. You know, right now. If they wanted to do it, right now would be the right time to do it.
Speaker 1:Get graphics cards out to these bigger YouTubers, let them review it, let them tell you hey, you should do this, you should change this, you should do this, you should change this, you should change this and actually do it and actually do shit for the gaming community instead of for the burning pockets, instead of for your pocket. If you think about your customers, your money's going to come. It really is. Nvidia right now is really going into their AI shit. They really are. They're pushing their AI shit like crazy. To be honest with you, I don't give a fuck.
Speaker 2:But then again, on the back end, even outside of the graphics cards for gamers, they also make graphics cards for industry workstations. Where I work, we use them, we have them in our machines. So you have to find somebody that could tap into all those markets like the video can't.
Speaker 1:nobody else could do that right now you do you think that the corporate side outweighs the gaming side right now?
Speaker 2:I think for namesake reason. Like popularity and what people know them for, the g GPUs and their AI is their front. But like the workstation GPUs and that nature and the price of those cars, I'm pretty sure that they make a tremendous amount of money. Just all of them, yeah.
Speaker 1:I've seen those. Those just go crazy. You do whatever the fuck you want to do with your money, but I would take heed to what these YouTubers that do reviews on computer components and stuff like that. I'll take heed of it. Just listen, you know you really don't want to feed the beast, but if the beast is the only one that's actually giving stuff out or has stuff, you know you're kind of stuck in a certain place. So buy, used, stay away from these new shits and just, or saving money and just fine.
Speaker 1:And when you see something it's not like lexi did, just, you know, doing the search, just go for it. You know. But always do your research, though. Always do your fucking research for sure, for sure. Just don't go out about shit. But, um, yeah, I took notes on this shit like hard. It was just like there are no independent reviews. They probably weren't now, but before they came out, no independent reviews. And the people that were independent reviews before they came out were just people that were kind of just like okay, I'll follow those rules. Cool, cool, I'll do it I don't.
Speaker 2:I don't know where their end game with this was. Like you as a company, as a tech company, you know how the tech youtubers are. You know you did not give them cards or like preventing them from installing these drivers that they were going to say something.
Speaker 2:Yep, and and I know they know this, because there's like a major game like not gaming, but like tech youtuber that are watching gamers nexus. He's always exposing tech companies for doing like wild shit like this, and nobody is no different. He's already made a video talking about this. I gotta watch it later. But like, yeah, like, and then you don't have any like launch materials. No, no hype about it. Like what, do you really want to sell these cars or not? Because I feel like they didn't really want to sell these cars. I think they did it so they can get that like budget dollar.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and showing that they have a variety there but like there, there's no real push behind it yeah, let's show on for sure.
Speaker 1:And the funny thing, the YouTubers that talk about this shit usually get blackballed by them. They probably never get any other product from them because they're honest, they're like this shit is wrong. I'd rather be honest with myself than bend the knee to a company that's like hey, you gotta do this shit our way. If you can't do it our way, then get the fuck off.
Speaker 2:I'm going to get the fuck off you know me and you, we don't kiss ass, so that's not going to happen.
Speaker 1:No, it's fucked. Fuck all the luck, dude. I forgot that in my mind. But yeah, damn. Yeah. I just saw that today and I was like damn, that's crazy. You got to talk about this because I didn't know that they were coming out with these cards either. So it was just random. I was like what the fuck? I'm gonna come up with these.
Speaker 2:I usually, you usually know about a card like somebody talk about it or do some postings about it, like how they did with the new cards. Okay, when they came out in january, those are hyped up.
Speaker 1:Everybody was talking about them like there were reviews about it, this one, they just like hey, so it was got your card. It was crazy, crazy, crazy stuff. Anything else that you want to add? No, well, thank you guys for joining us for another episode. Make sure you subscribe to us on TikTok, youtube, facebook. What was the other?
Speaker 2:one. I missed All the socials.
Speaker 1:Carolina Taku TikTok's been doing, yeah, All the socials you know. Uh, Carolina tacos Um TikTok has been doing well, Uh, we're two 20, 20 followers now and uh, yeah, you know, I'm posting every day. You're getting over a thousand views on Love stuff that I post Good stuff, so yeah,
