Welcome Back And Quick Check-In

SPEAKER_00

Thank you, and welcome back to another episode of the Carolina Utaku Podcast. I'm Afro and I am here with my co-host.

SPEAKER_01

Hi guys.

Games, New Couch, New Habits

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, welcome back, you guys. Nice to be here again for another week. Yeah, so you guys know how we do this. Kind of start off with what we've been up to, what's been going on, and uh I don't know. Some of y'all might like this, some of y'all might not. I don't know, might like the topics that we have for today. I don't know. We'll see. So, what you been up to lately?

SPEAKER_01

Um, not much. Been playing a lot of Fortnite, Diablo 2. Um I finally replaced the couch. So I've been sitting down there on my PSI playing Skyrim. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Trying to do as much as you can out that thing.

SPEAKER_02

Anyway.

SPEAKER_00

Nah, yo. She would never be on that couch. She would never be on that motherfucker. So she's like, oh, I got a new couch. I'ma use this.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna use this bitch. Like, I paid$2,700 for that couch. I'm gonna use the fuck out of that couch. I'm just gonna couch. It's like uh six-piece sectional space cleaner and has like the ports and everything. Yeah. But but I don't, I don't, I don't wanna sit in that anymore. I got a little rocking chair now, like little egg-shaped rocking chairs. I sit in that.

SPEAKER_00

Or that's cool. But you sip your sweet tea.

SPEAKER_01

So I um besides that, I also went to a con Sunday. Um, SC Comic Con.

SPEAKER_00

You know what's crazy? I thought you were gonna be like, oh yeah, something in Atlanta. You actually went something in state.

SPEAKER_01

I don't like Atlanta. Like that's like the first time I've been there since the last time I went, and that was with Ellie. Yeah. So um it was so they did give us a little bit more room, so we did have a little bit more walking room, usually like really cramped or whatever and hot. Um, I they did good. I didn't smell any con funk, so good job. Um I spent too much in the vendor vendor area.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, but I mean, let's be real. When was the last time you went to a convention?

SPEAKER_01

TwitchCon last year?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's yeah, that's right. Yeah, you have no excuse. All right. Yeah, go ahead.

SPEAKER_01

And then MomoCon is like next month, so like you going there too? Mm-hmm. Nice pretty much.

SPEAKER_00

A lot of people?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, there was a lot of people.

SPEAKER_00

Almost too many people in a space like that.

SPEAKER_01

There's always too many people in a space like that. And it gets bigger and bigger and bigger. So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Is this like one of the biggest ones?

SPEAKER_01

It is the largest one in South Carolina, yes.

SPEAKER_00

Really? And it wasn't like at a convention center or nothing?

SPEAKER_01

It is at a convention center.

SPEAKER_00

Oh shit. Oh, okay. The way that you made it sound like it was like you made it sound like it was like really small.

SPEAKER_01

It is really small, but it is at a convention center.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Got you. Okay. Um, that's what's up. That's what's up. Um, and you're enjoying these non-gas prices because you drive around in a nice car.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, yeah, I don't have to pay the four or five dollars a gallon, you know. Gotta pay my little 38 cents a kilowatt hour when I'm at the supercharger and uh whatever I charge at home. But I have a high electric bill, okay? So that's my trade-off. Okay.

Turning 35 And DIY Car Fixes

SPEAKER_00

Oh no shit. Damn the damn the car. I mean, look at where you oh man. That's what's up though. That's cool. Um, turn 35. Um, my co-host here forgot my birthday.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay. I was busy that day. I I promise you, I was busy all freaking day. And like, how I remember his birthday is by another anime character's birthday. They have the same birthday, and I look in my memories and I'm like, oh, it was day yesterday.

SPEAKER_00

But I I didn't do too much. Um, I didn't do much at all. I did work on the Volvo, changing the brakes and the rotors. If you have a P3 Volvo, no, no, no, for real. This is actually really a test. If you have a P3 Volvo or anything P3, P2, or P1, you should buy a uh diagnostic tool. I think it was called like MTX, BX, something, ODB, MX Plus. More, it's a better Bluetooth uh diagnostic tool that allows you to get into the different uh modules within your car. So if you need to do your rear brakes, and most newer cars have electric uh EPS brakes in the rear. So it has a motor on the back, and you can't push them shits in unless you have this tool to compress them. This shit works. It was like 150 bucks, and then I use an app that was like 10 bucks, and I'm able to hit every module within my car from Windows, AC, the heated seats. I can change that to whatever. It's actually really nice and comes in handy, and I can use it on my truck too. So that's pretty cool. Um, what else? Uh bought myself uh kind of like a birthday gift to myself. I bought some uh mate or yerba uh gourds so I can drink my yerba. Um got them from Argentina, like handcrafted type shit. Had to um cure them. And the way that you cure them is uh basically just put some yerba in there and fill it up with, you know, kind of hot water, and you just let it sit for 24 hours so it kind of takes in all that, and you kind of clean it out and everything. So I got this one because I like the design, a little bit smaller, and then this is the bigger one that holds a lot of yerba in it. Uh came with the bombilas straws, so you can put it in there and sip what you need to sip. Um, bought me some new, bought me some different Uruguayan yerba. And then I bought a flavored one that's actually not bad. Yerba is like my coffee. I don't drink coffee. So yerba is my coffee. Yeah. Um, so did that, and I was like, that's about it. Really, nothing too too crazy. Um just enjoyed the weekend, took the Friday off, and did yard work and all that shit. So nothing too crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Um, we're the complete opposite when it comes to our birthdays. I travel.

Why New Cars Feel Worse

SPEAKER_00

I don't do a lot of show. Yeah. So I don't know what I'm just gonna I don't know what brought up this topic into my head. I think I was watching something or whatever. That's how shit usually happens any fucking way. But okay, okay. First topic. I want to talk about how we're gonna talk about cars again. And you don't, you know, whatever. I want to talk about how car manufacturers are literally like fucking people out of everything. Like, I mean, everything. Cars look they look shiny and new, but in all reality, they're pieces of shit. And this isn't just like a certain manufacturer, this is like all of them. There, it's all of them. They a good example to me is Toyota. We always know Toyotas are like long-lasting cars, yeah, they last forever, reliable, they just keep going and going and going. What happens to a company that makes a car that is basically indestructible? People don't buy another, people don't buy more cars. So if they say, you know what, we gotta add some shit to this that's gonna make people say, damn, this car is fucking up on me. I gotta go get another one. That's what I'm starting to realize. I realized that with Volvo, I realized that. I mean, even new Chevy Silverados or shit, Ford, all of them. Like, no car manufacturer nowadays is like we do this for the people that buy our cars and we want to give them the satisfaction of being able to have these.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. And I don't know, when I when I think about that shit, I'm just like it it it I feel like I bring this up every episode, but it goes back to my point of anything that's new, it's just more like it's just more electronics in it. That's it. A lot of these cars, some of the engine stays the fucking same every fucking year. But it's just the outer appearance that that changes, changes and they add a different color and different color seats, and people go ape shit. Oh my god, that looks so fucking amazing until your ass is on the fucking side of the road pissed off. Yeah, so it it's bad. It it's it's disgusting to see where it's going, and now you see these gas prices happening, and it's just like, oh my god, this is really bad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's terrible.

SPEAKER_00

People with electric cars are definitely benefit bidding benefiting from this right now. But when I tell you that it's it's we're about to go, people that have kids, they are about to go into summer. Kids are about to be out of school next fucking month. And if these cats yeah, damn, like thinking about that.

SPEAKER_01

Like next month, they'll be out of school. What the fuck?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes, they're going to be out of school next fucking month. Do you know what happens when kids are out of school? Yeah, they go places. Yes, everything is fucking expensive right now. Ain't nobody take like what? Nigga, you better stay in the house and swallow spit. Like you better do so much. Well, you don't know where the way these gas prices are. Are you crazy? Like, I sit here and I think about that, and I'm just like, oh my gosh, this is gonna be bad. Because it's it doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon. It really doesn't. It it doesn't like anything is going to get better.

SPEAKER_01

I think it's gonna get worse for the summer. Yeah. Because I said how many year people out of school, traveling, like all that shit.

When Reboots Work And Fail

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's gonna get worse. Yep. Job market is still shit, housing market is still crazy. It's not nothing has been like elevating to the point where you're like, damn, yeah, this is this something has changed. It's not doing that, it's staying very stagnant and getting worse. So that's that's one thing. Sorry to get on that harsh topic. But the main top I want to talk about was uh reboots and Disney movies. I don't know why I want to talk about Disney movies, but it kind of came into my head. But when it comes to the reboots, right? I've watched, I watched the new Malcolm in the Middle joint that came out, and I've been watching the new Scrubs. Those shits are really good. The Malcolm in the Middle one, I was very surprised because yeah, it was good. The first they put out four episodes like this past weekend.

SPEAKER_01

And we're streaming service.

SPEAKER_00

Hulu. I was like, I was like, oh my gosh. Everybody it feels it, it it doesn't feel out of place. Everybody sounds the same. I know that sounds weird, but everybody sounds the same.

SPEAKER_01

Nobody is like seeing so it's just like how we talk about like games getting remastered and things of that nature. It's just like that right now. Well, I mean, it's been like that for a while for like TV.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Instead of like doing new ideas, it's been like mass reboots um of like a lot of old sitcoms.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. And and some people and my my biggest thing is when it comes to these to these reboots is I would think the people that are in the show really have to want to do it. You know, like, yeah, you you're gonna get paid, but you have to want to really do this shit in order for it to actually be good. Because we've seen I mean, yeah, we've seen reboots come and go. One season, no more seasons, right? So it's like I think this Malcolm in the Middle and this scrubs is doing well because the cast was like, yeah, let's do it. We have a good story that we can talk about and we can carry this shit on. It's great. When I think about some shows that people want to see rebooted, I don't think it needed. Like, and the funny thing is, I hate to categorize these as like black shows because it's just shows, but there are some shows that like I don't think Living Single needs a reboot.

SPEAKER_03

Why not?

SPEAKER_00

For what? Living Single was already great. I don't need a I personally I don't need a reboot of them older and them coming back, right? And here's the other shit. Well, somebody be like, well, what if you what if they had like kids and they kind of go through that same thing? Don't need it. Why not? Don't need it.

SPEAKER_01

I think I okay. For if they did a reboot of Living Single, I think it would be more like a no like a reboot reboot, probably like a 2026 version of Living Single.

SPEAKER_00

That's that's still I still don't think that's needed.

SPEAKER_01

I don't say it's needed, but it would be an interesting concept. Look at look at dating since Living Single started, right? It's changed completely.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, but it has a culture. If we're thinking about living single and we know what happens on that last episode, Khadija goes with Scooter, Overton and Sinclair are already married, Rajine ends up finding her rich guy, and Blair Underwood, Max and Kyle actually do get together because there is a uh they have a cameo in the show Half and Half where they're act where they actually have the kid, like she has the child. So we can't like they I don't want to say they kind of said we aren't having a reboot of this, but when you think about like how everything ended, like also the way that some of these shows end is insane. Um the way it ended, everybody had shit to do, and everybody went off to their own shit. Khadisha, uh, somebody knocks on the door and then scooter at the front door, right? And he's like, Yeah, I gotta go back, I gotta go to a different country because it is her producing and stuff like that. And she was like, I'm going with you. She heads out the door, opens it back up, looks back, and then leaves.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's the end. That's the end.

SPEAKER_00

That's the end. There was no, there was no fucking like and years later.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, but like that's what I'm saying. I I don't think it would like the way I think it would work is if it was just like no necessary reference to oh man, the that version.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But like expired by like you can see like in different ways in the show that it's expired by that version, but like a but completely 2026, whole stuff whole new storyline, whole new characters, that kind of thing is what I think would work.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. I mean, it it's anything's possible. I mean, and it would it in in retrospect, it would work because it's living single and the name will hold up. Because it's it's the name, right? Like, so living single is one example. People want a reboot of Martin to come back. I don't think that will work either.

SPEAKER_01

I don't that one I don't see working unless like even doing like a whole new yeah, I don't even think that would work.

SPEAKER_00

Like no. It wouldn't. I I don't think that I gotta put this so it doesn't sound like crazy. So I don't think Martin Lawrence is the same Martin Lawrence he was back then.

SPEAKER_03

I agree.

SPEAKER_00

Um, and I don't know what happened. Maybe it's just maturity, maybe something happened. I don't know. But he's not that same Martin Lawrence that was doing all the movies and doing all that stuff, and he was just like the funniness was just like natural as fuck. It was natural as hell. And I I don't know, I don't know what happened with that. Um, and then you don't have Tommy. Yes, you have uh Gina and Pam, but even then, if we really want to think about it, the way that ended, and that last season, Gina wasn't even in most of those episodes. And she was in the last episode, I think the last couple episodes before the season of before the series ended, and he was going out to California and he signed his name on the wall in the apartment. And there it is. I it I don't know, man. I don't think that would be one that would be like, oh man, Martin's coming back. And I don't think it would it would hit the way that people would expect it to hit. I just don't think so.

SPEAKER_01

I would it it just wasn't. I think that concept was an original concept, like you can't.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that that's something that can't be duplicated. I mean, it can't, you you can try, but I don't think it it it's gonna it's gonna hit the same. Yeah, it's not. Um and then I think about like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, the one that they did, you know, kind of more on a more uh serious, more kind of like a cinematic kind of drama, but I don't watch that at all. Nah, me either. Me either. Me either. I I think nah, nah. I haven't watched it. Maybe it's good, maybe it's like good shit. I don't know. Um but it it's just like how would you feel if they brought back like Moesha?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I wasn't a really big fan when it was originally on, to be honest, okay. Like I've seen a few episodes, but I wasn't like, oh, so like that wouldn't be my show, okay?

SPEAKER_00

She was mean. Moesha was mean as shit. In that show, she was so fucking mean, she was mean. Like she was just her attitude was just nasty. And I'm like, god damn, this is it. Like her attitude in that show was nasty, but I I get that. Um see now I'm thinking about just so what about girlfriends?

SPEAKER_01

No, that that's another one. No, y'all can just leave that where it is. She said no. But I mean, okay, I think that one is another one that like could fit in 2026.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

With things that are going on in 2026, it would fit in 2026, but it would like it would have to be a whole new crew because all of them would now be like in their 40s, well, like 40s, 50s. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, it would it would but here's the thing though. If if if if they can I if they can bring back bring back, excuse me, if they can bring back like or redo or bring back like the sex in the city shit, why couldn't they do girlfriends?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I d for me, I feel like you can't bring back the original cast on that. And have them tackle because I haven't even watched the reboot of Sex in the City, to be honest. And I love Sex in the City. It just like it's okay, uh. But like, you guys are way older. Like, these are not things that you guys should be dealing with at your big old age, you know?

SPEAKER_00

I I I don't know. I think I don't if they were to redo the cast, then maybe it might work. Um, even even when it comes to like the movies, like the movies that came out in the 90s, like the black movies and stuff like that, like The Wood or uh Love Jones and all that shit. I don't I I if those came out today, I think they would have the hype, but I don't think they would have the memory of them, if that makes sense. Like just because of the way that we take in stuff now, and we just spit that shit the hell out, and literally it can go, it can be gone in a second. It'd be gone in a second. So, like loving basketball and all that stuff, that shit came out at the right fucking time, at the right fucking moment, and that's how people can remember that. If something like if some shit like that came out now, that shit will be regurgitated and just spit the hell out. He would be like, all right, well, on to the next one. On to the next one.

SPEAKER_01

You have a good point, though.

SPEAKER_00

Time to go. Alright, what's next? What can we see? What what's going on? Yeah, it I don't know. It it it's just when it comes to the shows like that, I don't think a lot of reboots would actually be that good. I don't think they would be that good. Just for the soul fact reason of the way that they ended.

SPEAKER_01

And I was gonna think, because I was just thinking about King of the Hill when you said that. Because like technically that is a reboot. And it actually was done flawlessly.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But they but the way they left it all. Though gave them the lead way. No.

SPEAKER_01

There was no leeway until him moving to Saudi Arabia, working out there, and then coming back here. There was no that was gonna happen.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. I mean, cartoon-wise, yes, cartoon-wise, you can come up with any fucking shit. Because they did the same thing for the Prime family.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

It did the same shit for the Prime family, right? Like when I think about if they brought back like uh Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist, would you call those reboots?

SPEAKER_01

It depends on how they do it. So like if they picking up where they left off, then I wouldn't that that wouldn't be a reboot. You just left off after. But like if they do like a whole new like story or whatever, then yeah, that then that will be a reboot.

SPEAKER_00

So okay. Also, that Daredevil, the Daredevil uh new season was good too. I like that. Um, but yeah, I was I don't know what made me think about this whole reboot thing. Like I said, watching well, I do watching them out coming in the middle and watching the scrubs and seeing the cast, watching interviews of the cast, kind of talking like it felt like it was like natural, it wasn't anything crazy. I can understand why the scrubs reboot works because they're they were like the newbies back then. They become the surgeons and like head doctors and stuff like that, and then they're training other people to you know get into that and it and it works so fucking well, it's so fucking funny, and it just works. The Malcolm in the Middle shit, it's it's good.

SPEAKER_01

Like it, it's it's gonna make me watch it in front of the city.

Do New Disney Movies Still Hit

SPEAKER_00

It's crazy because it I'm just gonna say this when you get into that first episode, I'm not gonna say it hits a point where you're like, okay, yeah, we're here. This is it. This is it. In the first episode, you're like, you're gonna be going through that. You're gonna be like, okay, yeah, this is cool, this is great, this is awesome, cool, cool, cool. But then there's gonna be something in that first episode after you watch after you get when you get to it, you're gonna be like, This is the Malcolm, this is the family, this is it. And if you're gonna be like, Okay, I'm in. This is great. Um yeah, but those two shows I think did reboots really well, and I think it's all because of the cast being a hundred percent into it and it feeling more natural. So yeah, that was all I had to say about and then like I said, the other big thing was we know that Disney is this huge thing that owns damn near everything. Um but I wanted to ask you the question do new concept do the do new concept Disney movies hit like they did back in the day.

SPEAKER_01

I would say no from a personal standpoint. Like my favorite Disney movie growing up was Lion King and Pocahontas, right?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Typical ones, right?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Anyway, but as a kid, I watch those over and over and over again, and like, you know, right? So, but I don't but they don't I'm not around like kids. I don't think kids are like saying that the newer ones are their favorites to the point where like they're watching them over, they have like all the merch and all this stuff of the nation. Usually when it's kids, they're even like their favorites are the older ones, like Cinderella and Ariel and Snow White and you know like all those, right? Um, and I don't see like them drawing big crowds with even some of these newer ones. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I my favorite Disney movie is The Aristocat.

SPEAKER_01

Interesting choice.

SPEAKER_00

The Aristocats was a great movie just because of the music. And I just love the way that the animation looked. It looked great. I love the way that looks. I love everything music-wise. I love Thomas O'Malley fucking singing on a fucking river. He says, he sees this white cat with these three kids. He sees this cat with three kids, and he says, Oh, I gotta get that. That's what he said. My man saw three, saw this cat named Duchess and said, Yup. Yup. And then I'm pretty sure in the movie she's like by herself, and our kids are like, you know, playing or something, and the kids show up and he's like, What the fuck is this? We got three kids. You have to have three kids? What the hell? I always thought that was funny. And then he he takes them and hat you know, takes them back home and ends up meeting some other cats that play instruments and they bang through a house, go through floor to floor, and dance out in the streets. They meet a pair of geese that are one that is drunk. It's The Aristocrats is my favorite Disney movie. Like, hands down. It's a great movie. I think, and I mean, yes, Lion King and all that stuff, but another one, I actually like Fantasia. I like Fantasia 2000.

SPEAKER_01

I actually like that too. And uh Prince uh Notre Dame or whatever, Quasimoto.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, uh Hunchback in Notre Dame.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Uh there was one Disney movie. What is the Disney movie with um I can't think of his name? It's some dude who has like a undercut and it's like a little bob shit, and it's a dude. Damn, what is it called? And it has the the black girl with like the blue tattoos on her.

SPEAKER_01

I have no idea what she's talking about. You know what I'm talking about? No.

unknown

Damn.

SPEAKER_00

Is it Atlantis? I think it's Atlantis. I don't know, but I don't know. Some movies are hit and miss for me. Um it yeah, Rista Castle's my shit though. But I I understand what you're saying. I do think that when it comes to these movies, that I don't know what it is, but those old movies still hit to this day. And I guess sometimes the new stuff hits. Like, was Frozen Disney?

SPEAKER_01

I think Frozen was just okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so Frozen, um What's the one with uh they were like in Mexico?

SPEAKER_01

No, not Momna.

SPEAKER_00

Um yeah, uh that one hit that one hits too.

SPEAKER_01

People like people like Yeah Yeah, Princess and the Frog.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So I think some some but it's not as strong like the 90s. Yeah. Right, the bat, the bat, the bat, the bat.

SPEAKER_00

Like yeah, some of them, yeah. And then some of them were actually just older than that. Because 101 dominations came out, I think, in like the fucking 50s or 60s. Yeah, so that was Yeah, that's crazy. Even Snow White is like old. Snow White is old. Um Even the Aristotle Cats is old too. That didn't come out of the 90s, that came out like in the 60s or 70s. So yeah, it it's it was just something that um just crossed my mind when it comes to kids nowadays. Cause I I don't I yes, we have Disney Plus, and most of their movies just they don't even have movies that go to I mean, you can go to the theater to watch that shit, but you wait a month. That movie's gonna be on there. Yeah, movies gonna be on Disney Plus any fucking way.

SPEAKER_01

But I mean I am gonna go see Band Up though, so oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Have fun with that. You know, I don't go to movie theaters.

SPEAKER_01

We know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I just don't. It's been two years since I went to the movies.

Movies, Anime, And Franchise Milk

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the one that you talked about on the podcast.

AMD Vs Nvidia Pricing Reality

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, uh Blue Giant. Um and then I also saw recently that uh Demon Slayer is doing their movie shit again. So I think they have one coming out 2027 and another one's coming out 2028. And I think it might be that Infinity Castle shit, like the continuation of it. They are they are milking the fuck out of this. They are milking the hell out of this infinity castle. Hey, they are milking the hell out of this, man. They're gonna keep this shit going. It's insane to me. It is so crazy. I don't know. Another thing I wanted to talk to you about. We talked about graphics cards in the last episode a little bit. Have you seen the pricing of AMD graphics cards?

SPEAKER_01

Did they go up? Like, I'm not an AMD fan, so no. Several CPUs, but which is crazy.

SPEAKER_00

What that's something I need to look up because the prices of the AMD cards isn't crazy.

SPEAKER_01

No, they're more affordable than the VI cards. But I'm pretty sure they're they're probably gone up just as bad as the other cards.

SPEAKER_00

Do you think that the do you think Nvidia is their cards are just expensive for the name itself? The perform we know that the performance is is there, but for the amount of money that you pay for these cards, is it is it like is 50% of it or whatever just the name itself?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, yes.

SPEAKER_00

Because Intel, I thought, was coming out with a graphics card some years ago. Oh, they do?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's out, it's been out. Is it doing well? Fuck no. But uh they do have one.

SPEAKER_03

Is it doing well? Fuck no, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I figured I was like, I thought Intel was coming out with something some years ago. I remember seeing that, and they were gonna be like competing with NVIDIA and all that stuff, and I don't think that worked out too well at all. Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_01

Why can't I not find what I paid for this Rideon card?

SPEAKER_03

Which one?

SPEAKER_01

I'm trying to figure out it's been a while. It's a Christmas present for somebody.

SPEAKER_00

What the NVIDIA or you bought an AMD?

SPEAKER_01

I bought a Rideon card for somebody. Oh shit.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't know that. It couldn't have been that much. I wouldn't think so. I would not think so. And I also wonder how many people are like actually buying them and actually using them within their um system. Cause I'm looking on Amazon and I'm not seeing anything like over a grand. And these are like 90, 60. I actually wonder how how how well they do, to be honest with you.

SPEAKER_01

He is not in here. Juno is asked, he has one.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, he does?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Huh. Yeah. I'm not seeing them like over a thousand fucking dollars like the um NVIDIA ones. Shoot. Which is insane to me. Like, so I'm seeing 10, I'm seeing 1080s. Well, they got 560s for 369. I don't know. I've been thinking about building a new PC.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, not in this market right now. Don't I what? But then again, I don't know. Like I'm not standing in line.

SPEAKER_00

I'm not standing in line for no graphics card. I'll tell you that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, they're even skipping this year, aren't they? It won't be out till next year, between 27.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. So that should be fun to see. That should be really fun. I think that's gonna be a thing of people standing in line at Best Buys and waiting to get what they can get and paying crazy ass money. Fucking uh you can buy a starter car with the type of money for that shit. Jesus. And then I was looking on Micro Center and I saw like pre-built computers for like$1,700.

SPEAKER_01

What the I know something's wrong with them.

SPEAKER_00

You can't say that. I know there's they didn't have they didn't have NVIDIA um graphics cards, but they did have AMDs and they look clean. Oh I'm not gonna buy one. Fuck no. But I'm just saying they look clean. If you want to get into the shit, hey, go for it, man. Give it a try. Make sure you get a warranty.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, um, I found that it was a thousand ninety-one dollars and seventy-nine cents and that was for a RX 7900 7900 XTX, 24 gigabytes. So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And this was what? 2025?

SPEAKER_01

2023.

SPEAKER_00

2023? Jeez, everything is just getting so fucking expensive. It seems like the best thing for you to do is just work and just stay inside.

SPEAKER_01

Like don't step outside your door.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Because if you do that, you're gonna end up spending money.

SPEAKER_01

Spinning something.

Stanley Thermos Letdown And Returns

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's not even worth it. Jesus Christ. Um, was there anything else that you wanted to add? Excuse me.

SPEAKER_01

Uh nope, I'm good. Oh, man.

SPEAKER_00

I don't like Stanley. Not because of what happened last time, but I actually bought the um the Stanley Thermos and bought the attachment for the pour for one of these. And tell me why I got the parts. I was so excited, opened it up, nice cub. I was like, oh, this is nice, good Stanley quality. And I uh so I put so I put this uh the attachment for the uh the precis the precision pour, put it on there, screwed on, really nice, right? Do you know what the issue was? What's the issue? When I put the top on, top goes on and it twists on, but when I twist it off, guess what comes off with it? The damn precision pour attachment. So it's stuck in the top. And I said, I can't use this because I would have to be taking this thing out every time. And if I have hot water in here, that's gonna suck. So what are you gonna do? I'm sending it back to Amazon and get my money back. Everything. I'm sending it to Amazon to get my money back. I bought a um, I actually bought a a thermos that's made for that through another Argentinian company that came last week, and it's nice. It's nice. That's all I need. As long as I got something that gives me that precision pour so I can drink this with the straw.

SPEAKER_01

You wearing a chill hot shirt.

SPEAKER_00

What? No, it's the barbecue thing.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I was like, that looks familiar.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, my sister made this for me. She it's the logo.

SPEAKER_01

I remember the logo now. Yeah, I know it was a shirt.

BBQ Dreams In An Expensive Economy

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Um, oh man, my sister uh got me uh logo stickers, she got me a decal that can go in the truck. Yeah, man. And this is I I wanted to start a barbecue business, you guys. And meat is too expensive. Meat is so fucking expensive. Like, I'm better off just going to a farm and asking the farmer, hey, let me pay for half a cow and just buying a big ass deep freezer and just putting all that meat in there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I've been going to the butcher.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because I'm I'm gonna be paying crazy money. People, what I've noticed is when this is gonna sound crazy. When gas is high, I don't know what it is, but people buy more food. Like they order more food when gas is high.

SPEAKER_01

So they don't have to make so many trips to the store.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I guess so. And I said that I'm like, that's crazy to me. People would rather just order food than just go grocery shopping and make it themselves. Well, it's uh look, we're going into a time. If you have a food business, you got a food truck, man, or you motherfucker, you just gotta stand on the street. Somebody's gonna come and stop. You could be in the parking lot, somebody's gonna stop.

SPEAKER_01

That is very true. I forgot where I was going the other day. But like, oh, it's going to the card, and there was like this this street oyster food truck, and like I've been wanting to try them. And I drove past and there was like a line of people just waiting to get food from this people gonna show up.

SPEAKER_00

People are gonna show up. Like, I'm I'm really tempted. I'm really tempted one day, maybe over the summer, to just take my my Toeble smoker and just put it in a parking lot, like somewhere in town. And I'm just I'm just smoking shit and just seeing who the fuck pulls up.

SPEAKER_01

But I mean, okay. Apparently now Facebook is the place to find food. I don't know when this became a thing, but like people selling plates on Facebook marketplace and selling them and shit. It's just yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah. I I found uh I found a woman that was uh selling Filipino food on Facebook. Good stuff. Um it it's people gonna buy, man. People gonna buy regardless of anything. I'm really tempted. Put it on the back of the truck and just pull it in the parking lot and just get something going. I just have like a whole bunch of whole chickens on that bitch, and I'm just like smoking them. And people be like, wait, what you got there? I'm like, hey man, I'm just selling chicken, I ain't got no sides. I bet you bet you a meal. People will come to get these whole chickens before they go to Walmart. Because people will go to get look, the chickens at Walmart are cool, they're good. They're like five dollars a whole chicken. You're straight, right? But you add that smoke to it, oh, that's flavor on top of flavor. Don't let me brine it in orange juice, then the flavor is gonna be crazy. Oh my goodness. But I'm just saying, like you just go with a whole bunch of whole chickens, chicken, shit. Um, chicken wings always do well, whole chickens do well. Drumsticks, not so much. I'm not a drumstick person, not the biggest fan of drumsticks. You like drumsticks?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, they're my phase.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no. I don't like drumsticks. Drumsticks are nah, they're not that great. Um, I mean, you could always do like burgers and ribs and stuff, but that's expensive meat. Chicken is a little bit cheaper. Um cooks, it doesn't like take long to smoke. Once you hit 165 on the breast, if you have a whole chicken, that chicken's good. You could put that off to the side. I don't like white meat. Huh?

SPEAKER_01

I don't like white meat.

SPEAKER_00

Smoked chicken breast is amazing.

SPEAKER_01

No, I didn't even smoke. I don't like it.

Thanks, Socials, And Subscribe

SPEAKER_00

Crazy. Oh my goodness, man. See, I would this is crazy. I would do whole chickens, I would do rice, and I would do plantains. And that's all I would make. Plantains, put them, put that shit on the um, on the smoker, coconut oil, fry them bad boys up. So you gotta wait for those plantains to get real soft, though, right? Because if they if they're still kind of hard, you flatten them, and it's uh it's another uh it's something else when you flatten them. Fuck, I forgot what they're called, but you gotta wait for them to get real soft, cut them up, put them that coconut oil. Mouse things are sweet with the chicken and the rice. I'm tempted though. I'm gonna think about that. Just pull into a parking lot and just say, you know what? What the fuck? I don't care.
